How To

How to make wood joint

This tutorial will teach you how to join two pieces wood together. The "pocket hole joint" is a method whereby we drill holes into the wood and glue them together. This method is great if your wood's straight and smooth. If your wood isn't straight or flat, you might want to try another method, such as dowel joinery. These are the steps

  1. Drill Pocket Hole Joints. You will need to measure and mark the exact location of your pocket hole joint. You will then drill 3/4" deep holes through each piece of wood with a jigsaw, handheld drilling machine, or hand-held drill.
  2. Sand Smooth. The wood's edges can be sanded to prevent splitting.
  3. Glue the two sides of the wood together. Apply glue to the sides of both wood. Let the wood sit for 5 minutes, then clamp it together.
  4. Fix the Pieces together. Once the glue has dried, clamp the pieces together so they are flush.
  5. Trim Joinery. Trimming the joinery after glue has completely dried.

You should leave enough space between the pieces to allow you to turn them inside-out.
